The Arkansas softball transfer class has earned some big national love.
D1Softball ranked the group third in the country on Wednesday morning.
Six players make up this new class. Their names are Kylie Doherty, Grace Hornbuckle, Kate Munnerlyn, Katie Wetteland, Kendall Yarnell and Ava Zachary.
Only two teams landed ahead of Arkansas. Texas Tech took the top spot and Texas came in second.
Florida and Texas A&M rounded out the top five. That means the Razorbacks now sit among the very best transfer hauls in the whole sport.
Doherty joins the Hogs after three seasons at Boston University. She earned Patriot League Player of the Year honors in 2026 and picked up First-Team NFCA All-Region nods in back-to-back years.
Her junior season alone included a .404 batting average and 27 home runs. She also drove in 89 runs and posted a .894 slugging percentage.
Hornbuckle spent two seasons pitching at Omaha. She struck out more than seven batters per seven innings as a sophomore while posting a 2.33 ERA.
Munnerlyn brings pitching experience from Texas A&M and even threw a perfect game against Kennesaw State this past February. She also picked up a win over eventual national champion Texas.
Newcomers bring All-America honors to Fayetteville
Wetteland arrives from Nevada after a huge freshman year. She won Mountain West Freshman of the Year and started every single game for the Wolf Pack.
Her numbers included a .400 average and a .490 on-base percentage. She also handled third base well, posting a .966 fielding mark.
Yarnell spent two years at UCF and turned in one of the best offensive seasons in program history there in 2026. She slashed .344/.446/.747 with 15 home runs and 46 RBI. Her name now sits in UCF’s single-season top 10 in several categories.
Zachary rounds out the class after a standout freshman year at Notre Dame. She earned Second-Team All-ACC honors and led her team in batting average, doubles, RBI and on-base percentage.
She also swiped 10 bases while playing mostly second base for the Fighting Irish.
This class has been climbing the rankings all summer. Softball America had the group at sixth nationally back on July 6. Now it sits three spots higher after D1Softball’s latest update.
Arkansas comes off a historic season
The timing lines up well for Arkansas. The Razorbacks are coming off a 47-13 season that included their first-ever trip to the Women’s College World Series.
Those 47 wins mark the second-most in program history. Arkansas also set a program record with 26 run-rule victories.
Bogle Park was tough to beat too.
The Hogs went 29-3 at home, their second-best mark since the stadium opened back in 2009. Only the 2022 team, with 31 wins, and the 2018 squad, with a .931 winning percentage, topped that stretch.
With a top-three transfer class and a program coming off its best season yet, Arkansas softball has plenty of momentum after setting new program highs last year.
