FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Junior catcher Hannah Gammill’s heroic walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh lifted No. 8 Arkansas (9-3) to a 3-2 victory over No. 19 Arizona (8-4) in game one of Thursday’s doubleheader at Bogle Park.
The Razorbacks fell 5-2 to Arizona in the nightcap.
Bogle Park set an opening day attendance record of 2,696, besting the previous mark set in 2022 (1,306).
Game 1
In game one, redshirt senior Chenise Delce tossed her first complete game of the season after hurling 7.0 innings and recording a season high 12 strikeouts en route to her fourth win of the year. The Oklahoma City native gave up a pair of runs on four hits. Delce kept Arizona scoreless through the game’s first six innings before the ‘Cats put two runs up to tie the game in the seventh.
Junior Cylie Halvorson paced the Hogs offensively, registering her second consecutive multi-hit game to finish 2-for-3 with a run scored. Sophomore Spencer Prigge drove in a team-high two runs on a two-out single in the second. Hannah Gammill, Reagan Johnson and Rylin Hedgecock compiled a hit apiece.
Arkansas grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the second via Spencer Prigge’s two-RBI single to right.
Arizona evened it up in the top of the seventh on a two-run home run.
Bogle Magic occurred in the bottom of the seventh. Reagan Johnson began the inning by reaching on a drop third strike on a wild pitch. Kristina Foreman moved Johnson to second on a sac bunt. Hedgecock followed with a one-out walk before Kacie Hoffmann’s ground out to first advanced runners to second and third with two outs. Hannah Gammill fought off nine pitches before smacking a game-winning, RBI single to right center to plate Johnson and seal the 3-2 win.
Game 2
Freshman LHP Robyn Herron (3-1) got the start in game two, throwing 3.1 innings and giving up three earned runs on three hits.
The Tampa product also struck out five, marking her third consecutive start where she carved up 5+ strikeouts. Redshirt junior LHP Callie Turner tossed 3.2 innings in relief where she surrendered a lone run on two hits while fanning four.
Turner did not give up any earned runs after working around runners at third in the fourth, sixth and seventh frames.
Freshman Reagan Johnson led the Hogs offensively after scattering two singles and scoring a run to push her hit streak to five games. Hannah Gammill, Cylie Halvorson and Kristina Foreman recorded Arkansas’ other three hits of the game.
Arkansas got on board in the fourth on Halvorson’s RBI single to right that scored Johnson. The Razorbacks added their final run of the game on an Arizona throwing error that allowed Gammill to cross home.
Arizona took a 4-2 lead in the top of the fifth on a three-run blast and fielding error. The Wildcats added to their lead and scraped their fifth and final run of the game in the fifth.

Arkansas has another twin bill scheduled for Friday. The Razorbacks face Drake at 1:30 p.m. before ending the day with a 4 p.m. first pitch against Arizona. Arkansas is set to play Drake again Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Saturday before concluding the Razorback Invitational against the Bulldogs on Sunday at 11 a.m.
