Arkansas’ summer on the recruiting trail keeps rolling.
Stanley Peters Jr., a three-star cornerback from Seminary, Miss., committed to the Razorbacks on Thursday afternoon during a live ceremony at The Opening Finals, broadcast on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel.
He chose the Hogs over Houston, Mississippi State and Ole Miss, becoming Arkansas’ 22nd verbal pledge for the 2027 recruiting class.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound defensive back carries a 3.5 GPA and a 4.47 40-yard dash.
According to 247Sports, he’s an 87-graded prospect who ranks 92nd among cornerbacks and 24th overall in Mississippi for his cycle.
His commitment moves the Razorbacks to 30th nationally in class rankings while holding steady at 11th in the SEC.
Holding that ranking through February won’t be easy for Hogs in Ryan Silverfield’s first season.

Peters visited on Arkansas’ big June weekend
The recruitment moved quickly.
The Hogs brought Peters to campus in mid-April, extended a scholarship offer and he locked in an official visit on the spot.
He took three official visits before deciding going to Houston on May 28, Arkansas on June 5 and Ole Miss on June 19.
According to Rivals’ Chad Simmons, the Razorbacks had positioned themselves well coming out of that Fayetteville trip.
As a junior at Seminary, Peters recorded 31 tackles — 27 solo — while batting down 12 passes and grabbing two interceptions, per MaxPreps.
Defensive backs coach Eddie Hicks, a fellow Mississippi native, handled the recruitment.
Hicks had already secured cornerback John Catlin IV of Denton (Texas) Ryan earlier in the cycle, making Peters the second DB commit he’s pulled from Mississippi for Arkansas.
Peters joins building secondary group for Razorbacks
Peters gives the Hogs four players committed in the secondary for 2027, joining Catlin, Kevin Grant of Arlington (Texas) Martin and safety Jameer Cantrell of Buford, Ga.
The June 5 official visit weekend alone has now produced six new additions to the Arkansas 2027 class.
More decisions could be coming quickly.
Athlete Rashaad Silver of Decatur (Ga.) Columbia, who visited the Razorbacks, Georgia and Wake Forest, will announce next Wednesday.
Bridge City (Texas) linebacker Bryce Breeden decides Friday and four-star wide receiver Alvin Mosley of Rosharon (Texas) FB Crawford is set for Saturday at 6 p.m.
