COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two Razorback freshmen competed on day two of the 2018 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the campus of the Ohio State University.

Freshman diver Brooke Schultz competed in the one-meter springboard Thursday. After getting off to a slow start, the Fayetteville native picked it up to finish ninth in the prelims, just 0.35 points shy of qualifying for the finals with a score of 295.20. In the consolation round, Schultz scored a 311.80 to win the round and finish ninth overall in her NCAA debut.

Arkansas began the day with a 37th-place finish by freshman Peyton Palsha in the 500 freestyle. The St. Petersburg, Florida, native touched just shy of a personal-best 4:43.05, touching in 4:43.19 in her NCAA Championship debut. Palsha, the lone Razorback swimmer at the championships, will get back in the pool on Saturday for the 1650 freestyle.
