LOS CABOS, Mexico — Arkansas moved up the leaderboard for the second straight day at the 2018 Querencia Cabo Collegiate, posting rounds of 296-282-284 – 862 (+10) to finish T-6th overall at Querencia Golf Club.

In the toughest field in college golf, Arkansas knocked off two of the top five teams in the nation and bested five teams ranked in the top 25.

The Razorbacks finished deadlocked with No. 23 South Florida, while top-ranked Oklahoma State ran away with the team title at 14-under. No. 13 California was the only other team in red figures, finishing runner-up at 6 under.

Alvaro Ortiz continues to play his best golf of the spring posting another top 5 finish at T-3rd overall following rounds of 72-69-68 – 209 (-4).

He had seven birdies in each of his first two rounds and finished with a tournament-best 19 birdies during the championship.

Luis Garza notched his third top-20 finish of the year thanks to a second round 2-under 69, while William Buhl finished inside the top 30 after shooting 2-under during the final 36 holes.

Mason Overstreet saved his best round of the event for Tuesday with a 1-over 72 to finish T-45th, while Tyson Reeder finished 69th overall.

Landon Ernst competed as an individual and used a final-round 1-under 70 to finish at 15-over for the tournament and T-65th overall in his fifth collegiate event.

The Razorbacks finished third in the field in total birdies at 53 and shot 10-under on par fives, good for fifth in the tournament loaded with 11 of the top 30 teams in the country.

Arkansas returns to action on March 12, traveling to Southern Intercollegiate in Athens, Georgia for the third consecutive year. The Razorbacks have a 23-4 head-to-head record at the event during the last two seasons.
