Sometimes you can just be indecisive.
Maybe you question what you really want, or perhaps you have doubts in your abilities.
I wrote this week’s piece four times. Four separate times and four different ways. That is a lot of wasted time.
Finally, with my deadline already past, my editor simply said, “Pick one.”
I still had my reservations, but is prompting made me come to a quick decision I did not thing I would. I made my pick, and that pick is Arkansas over Utah.
I know what you are thinking: “Utah is the 20th ranked team in the nation, and the Razorbacks’ offense looked horrible against an FCS team last week.”
You know what? You are right. But dang it, I have a suspicion Arkansas head coach Ryan Silverfield has found a way to motivate our beloved Hogs for this evening.
Besides, why can my submission not be late? The game will be. In fact, I may not be able to stay awake that long. I may be getting too old to function.
In fact, I may be losing my senility, and picking the Razorbacks may be evidence of that. But I have people in Utah for whom I do not want to give the pleasure of my picking the Utes. Therefore …

Random thoughts
There is something about the state of Utah that simply irritates me.
On the contrary, one of my best friends lives there, and the state itself is beautiful.
