Musselman adds another player from transfer portal with Graham
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas coach Eric Musselman isn’t finished juggling the roster.
And it might be a clue what Jaylin Williams has planned the Razorbacks picked up another 6-foot-9 guy out of the transfer portal Thursday.
Jalen Graham from Arizona State is the latest experienced guy that can rebound and score to transfer to the Hogs.
He was an All-Pac 12 second-team selection for the Sun Devils averaging 23.5 minutes per game, getting 9.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and nearly a block per game. Graham hit 48.6% of from the field.
As the competition increased, so did Graham’s numbers.
In Pac 12 play, he scored 12.0 points per contest at 52.0% shooting from the field, upped his free throw percentage nearly 10% and upped his impact on the glass to more than five per game.
Graham joins former Missouri forward Trevon Brazile and former Rhode Island forwards Makhi and Makhel Mitchell as players who have committed to the Razorbacks since Arkansas was eliminated in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament.
“They were just missing a piece they needed, so I felt I could be that piece for them,” Graham told Richard Davenport with WholeHogSports.com.
Musselman recruited him when he was at Nevada and it was playing for the coach that got Graham on board.
What it may do is give a clue which way Williams might be leaning or what Musselman has discovered in talks with NBA teams about the sophomore forward’s possible status for the NBA Draft.
Williams made the announcement this week he was considering all of his options and placed his name into the draft.
The numbers may start to get interesting now. With Williams’ status uncertain that makes 14 on the roster, one over the limit and it appears the last two guys left that might have to find somewhere else to play are Jaxson Robinson and Kamani Johnson.

Noland wins pitchers’ duel, Hogs down Gators in series opener
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Arkansas senior right-handed pitcher Connor Noland dazzled on the diamond once again Thursday night, tossing seven scoreless innings en route to an 8-1 Razorback victory at Florida Ballpark.
Through three innings, both Noland and Florida lefty Hunter Barco faced the minimum nine hitters. The only runner to reach — Florida second baseman Colby Halter — was caught stealing after a leadoff single in the first.
Sophomore third baseman Cayden Wallace became the first Razorback baserunner in the fourth inning after getting hit by a pitch, and he came around to score on an infield single by graduate catcher Michael Turner.
Freshman first baseman Peyton Stovall got hit by a pitch to lead off the fifth, and Wallace scored him with a one-out single to right field.
Graduate right fielder Chris Lanzilli stretched the Arkansas lead to three runs in the sixth, leading off with a solo homer to left field. A single and a walk later, the Gators pulled Barco, but righty Tyler Nesbitt was able to keep the Razorbacks from scoring again.
After scoreless seventh and eighth innings, the Hogs went broke the game open in the ninth. Wallace led off with a solo bomb to left, and senior center fielder Braydon Webb followed with his team-leading eighth long-ball of the season.
Turner drove in his second run of the game with a double to right-center field, senior shortstop Jalen Battles hit a sacrifice fly for the seventh run and Stovall knocked in the eighth with a single to center.
Senior right-hander Zebulon Vermillion sealed the victory with two innings of one-run ball. He stranded two runners in the eighth, allowed a leadoff double to score in the ninth and finished things off with a strikeout.
The Razorbacks and Gators will return to action at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Freshman lefty Hagen Smith is the projected starter for Arkansas, opposite Florida righty Brandon Sproat. The game will stream live on the SEC Network+.
