No. 1 Hogs looking to close regular season strong

FAYETTEVILLE — No. 1 Arkansas will cap the indoor regular season this Friday at home, hosting the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Date/Time: Friday, Feb. 16, 5 p.m.
Venue: Randal Tyson Track Center
Tickets: $5 for Adults, 17 and under free
Important Links: Meet Schedule | Live Results | SEC+ (5 p.m. CT)

The Razorbacks have been ranked No. 1 in the national polls for three-consecutive weeks off several Hogs’ strong individual event marks on their respective national leader boards. Redshirt senior Taliyah Brooks (long jump and pentathlon) and junior Lexi Jacobus (pole vault) have the led Arkansas’ charge both ranked No. 2 in the NCAA in their signature events. The 16-best performers in each event (top-12 for relays) qualify for the national meet. Following a declaration and acceptance process athletes below the top-16 can move up if a better performer opts out.

“What we’re going to do now is just fine tune,” head coach Lance Harter said. “We do need to get a qualifier in the distance medley and fortunately for us we have a pretty good stable of middle distance runners. The rest of meet is pretty much kind of tune up type stuff for our elite athletes ahead of SECs and some of our developmental athletes this will be kind of their final hurrah.”
