More struggles for Razorbacks in loss at Mizzou
Hogs never really get close after Tigers’ red-hot start in fifth straight loss in sec play
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Arkansas was down early but continued to fight, cutting its deficit to 10 twice in the second half. The last, the Razorbacks trailed 70-60 with 6:22 left and had two free throws to make it an eight-point game potentially.
However, Arkansas came up empty and Mizzou went on a 6-0 run and came away with an 83-65 victory Saturday evening at Mizzou Arena.
The result spoiled the first career double-double by Zvonimir Ivisic (14 points and 10 rebounds). Adou Thiero added 12 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots.
Five Tigers scored in double figures including 17 points from Tamar Bates and 17 from Caleb Grill.
Two keys to the Missouri win was the Tigers going 14-of-19 at the free throw line, compared to Arkansas going 4-of-8, and the Tigers making 11 3-pointers compared to the Hogs’ five.
Arkansas returns home next week for a pair of home games starting Wednesday (Jan. 11) versus Georgia.
