Hogs return home for pair of SEC matches this weekend

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas returns home this weekend to host Tennessee and No. 14 Georgia this weekend.

The Razorbacks and Volunteers (13-4, 2-1 SEC) will square off on Friday night at 6 p.m. at the Billingsley Tennis Center, while Arkansas will face the Bulldogs (7-5, 0-3 SEC) on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Arkansas has five players with double-digit singles wins this season, fall included, including three freshmen.

Senior Jose Salazar leads the way with a 15-9 overall record and a 9-5 mark this spring. Freshman Josh Howard-Tripp is 14-12 overall with a 7-7 mark this spring, while freshman Jose Alonso is 13-6 overall and 7-3 in the spring.

Alonso also has the longest current winning streak on the team at three straight. Freshman Alex Reco has holds the best spring winning percentage with an 8-3 record, 11-8 overall.

The last time Arkansas was at home, the Razorbacks opened SEC action with a 6-1 win over LSU, before falling 7-0 to No. 7 Texas A&M.

Last weekend, Arkansas hit the road for the first time in conference play, dropping matches to Kentucky 5-2 and No. 17 Vanderbilt 6-1.
