Hogs land transfer guard from Washington after All-Pac 12 freshman year
Playmaker improved status over three-star ranking out of high school and chooses to go with Razorbacks.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas landed another playmaker Tuesday, getting a commitment from Washington guard Keyon Minifield, per his social media post.
He ranks No. 53 overall in the 247Sports Transfer Portal Rankings as a four-star with a 0.9000 player rating.
Minifield’s quickness is one of his highest-rated skills after a freshmen season averaging 10.0 points, 3.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game for the Huskies.
His 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio led all Pac-12 freshmen. He shot 41.0 percent from the field, 33.0 percent on 35 made three-pointers and just a tick under 70 percent at the free throw line.
Minifield had a pair of early breakout games, going for 21 on North Florida on Nov. 11 and following up with a 26-point outing on 9-of-14 shooting and four three-pointers against Utah Valley just three days later. He had nine games with five or more assists.
He was a three-star prospect ranked outside of the top 200 in the 2022 class at 247Sports over Alabama, Tennessee, Louisville, Ohio State and a potential return to the Huskies.
