CWS finals opener delayed until Tuesday due to weather
Due to severe weather, the College World Series finals opener between Arkansas and Oregon State has been postponed and will now be played Tuesday at 6 p.m.
OMAHA, Neb. — Due to severe weather in the Omaha area, the College World Series finals opener between Arkansas and Oregon State has been postponed and will now be played Tuesday at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
Game one of the best-of-three series was originally scheduled for Monday at 6 p.m.
The Razorbacks are in the College World Series finals for the second time in program history and first time since the 1979 season.
Arkansas swept its way through its bracket, knocking off defending national champion Florida in the semifinal. The No. 5 national seed carries a 47-19 record into the championship series against Oregon State.
With Monday’s delay, three of the Razorbacks’ four games in Omaha have been affected by inclement conditions.
Arkansas’ opener against Texas (June 17) was delayed by 2 hours and 49 minutes in the sixth inning while the team’s game against Texas Tech (June 19) was first postponed from Tuesday to Wednesday and then delayed from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
