Buckle up for big lineup of games for Razorbacks’ basketball this year

It’s hard to see any easy stretches in Hogs’ basketball season, including one game that won’t count on record.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — There won’t be any lull this year for Arkansas basketball fans. Usually there’s a stretch where the games may not as big as others when looking at the list in September and it may even include a game that won’t count on record.

The Razorbacks will even throw in a trip to The Bahamas for games against Stanford, Michigan and Memphis. Those last two may end up being one or the other in the Battle 4 Atlantis just before Thanksgiving.

Even a charity game against Purdue on October Oct. 28 will have fans more interested than normal in that game. Add a matchup with Duke on Nov. 29 and it appears to be a much tougher lineup than normal for non-conference games in the pre-season.

The Hogs will begin conference play on Jan. 6 in Bud Walton Arena against Auburn instead of a soft start. Fans rushed the court just a couple of years ago against the No. 1-ranked Tigers after a win. They always have a good time against Auburn coach Bruce Pearl’s teams.

The final five games feature three home games with two big road games. Home games include Missouri (Feb. 24), Vanderbilt (Feb. 27) and LSU (Mar. 6) with road games at Kentucky (Mar. 2) and at Alabama (Mar. 9). The SEC Tournament is set for a return to Nashville (Tenn.) and will be held at Bridgestone Arena from March 13-17. Tipoff times and television broadcast information will be released at a later date.
