Arkansas vs. Auburn: Hogs bring turnover streak to Jordan-Hare Stadium

Information from Arkansas Communications is included in this story.

Antonio Jordan got his first college start against Missouri. He didn’t waste it. The Warren, Ark., wide receiver finished with seven catches for 106 yards. Both were career highs.

Before that game, he’d never gone over 100 yards receiving.

You have to go back to Jonathan Williams to find the last Arkansas player who did that in his first start. Williams caught three passes for 150 yards in a 49-7 win over Kentucky on Oct. 13, 2012.

Jordan has led the Razorbacks in receiving two weeks running now. He had five catches for 74 yards in the 31-21 win at Vanderbilt on Oct. 17.

He’ll try for a third straight Saturday when Arkansas plays Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Kickoff for Arkansas vs. Auburn is 11:45 a.m. on SEC Network.

The defense is forcing turnovers

Arkansas has forced a turnover in three straight games.

The last time the Hogs had a longer streak in one season was 2023. They forced one in four straight games from Oct. 21-Nov. 18 that year.

Arkansas has 10 takeaways in eight games. Half are interceptions and half are fumble recoveries.

Last year’s team had nine all season. And that took 12 games.

Bradley Shaw got one of the fumbles against Missouri. The linebacker also led the team with nine tackles, which tied his career high. He broke up two passes on top of that.

He recovered a fumble against Missouri last year too.

That’s not something you see often. No Razorback has recovered a fumble against the same team in back-to-back seasons since at least 1995.

Smith leads in tackles and the offense keeps scoring

Ja’Quavion Smith is the team’s leading tackler. The Howard transfer has 53 stops this season.

He’s also got 3.5 tackles for loss and a sack.

Only two active Razorbacks have more career tackles for loss than Smith’s 17.5.

The offense hasn’t been blanked in a while. Arkansas has scored in 66 straight games, which ties for the fourth-longest streak in school history.

It’s the longest stretch since a 66-game run from Nov. 2, 2013, to Nov. 17, 2018.

Arkansas was last shut out Oct. 2, 2021, in a loss to No. 2 Georgia.

Extra points haven’t been an issue either. The Hogs have made 244 straight, dating to Dec. 5, 2020. Going by date, no team in the country has a longer streak.

Auburn leads the series

Saturday is the 36th meeting between the two programs.

Auburn holds a 21-13-1 edge.

The Tigers won 33-24 in Fayetteville on Oct. 25, 2025.

Arkansas won the last game played at Auburn. The Hogs beat the Tigers 24-14 on Sept. 21, 2024.

Ryan Silverfield and Alex Golesh have met before. Silverfield coached Memphis from 2020-25 and Golesh coached South Florida from 2023-25.

Silverfield won all three of those games in the American Conference.

Arkansas has four regular-season games left. After this one, there’s just one more SEC road trip.
