FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Sixteen corner kicks. Eighteen shots. Two goals.
That’s the math Arkansas was left with Thursday night after the Razorbacks draw Georgia 2-2 at Razorback Field.
The Hogs hadn’t piled up that many corners in one match since 2022.
They also fired twice as many shots as the Bulldogs, who managed just nine.
Georgia goalkeeper Jordan Brown had to make four saves to keep it level.
Still, a tie at home against an SEC team is something Arkansas knows how to live with. It just doesn’t lose there.
The Razorbacks are 25-0-3 in their last 28 league matches in Fayetteville, a streak that goes back to 2020.
A wild four minutes
For a moment, that streak looked shaky.
Georgia flipped the match right around halftime with two quick goals.
Mona Childs scored in the 43rd minute. Then Kieren Jeter struck in the 47th.
Just like that, the Bulldogs had turned a one-goal hole into a 2-1 lead.
Arkansas didn’t wait long to respond.
Zoe Susi, the team’s top point producer, sent a cross into the box in the 52nd minute. Freshman Lauren Van Rhein met it with her head and tied the score.
Susi’s assist was her first of the season. It also gave her nine points.
Ewertz gets it started
The first Arkansas goal came before the Georgia flurry.
Junior Kyndal Ewertz scored in the 39th minute, also with a header.
Senior Sabrina Jones lofted the ball in, and Ewertz redirected it home. That gave Jones two assists this season.
Neither Ewertz nor Van Rhein had scored a goal this year before Thursday. They’re now the Hogs’ 11th and 12th scorers of the season.
Keegan Smith handled the Arkansas net and made two first-half saves.
The Razorbacks picked up three cautions, which is the most they’ve had in a match this year.
Arkansas now sits at 1-1-1 in the SEC. Georgia fell to 3-3-4 overall and 0-1-2 in league play.
Auburn comes to town
The Hogs don’t get much rest. Auburn visits Razorback Field on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m.
The Tigers are 6-1-3 overall and 2-1-0 in the SEC. They shut out Missouri 2-0 on Thursday night.
