Fayetteville gets ready for another loud night at Bud Walton Arena.
The second annual Primetime at the Palace will officially open the 2026-27 basketball season on Friday, Oct. 2, and it’s free for anyone who wants to walk through the doors.
Tipoff for the event is set for 8 p.m., though doors swing open an hour earlier at 7 p.m.
That gives fans plenty of time to find seats before the action starts. Parking near the arena opens even sooner, at 5 p.m., and it works on a first-come, first-served basis.
Hogs fans won’t pay a dime to attend, but there’s one step nobody can skip. Every single person, regardless of age, has to grab a free ticket ahead of time to get inside.
Some seating will be set aside just for students, and premium seats will be up for grabs too. Everyone else gets general admission on a first-come basis.
Bag rules stay the same as always. Bud Walton Arena’s clear bag policy will be enforced throughout the night, so leave the oversized totes and backpacks at home.
Player introductions kick off the night
Once the doors close and the crowd settles in, the night starts with introductions. Third-year men’s coach John Calipari will bring his squad onto the court first.
Second-year women’s coach Kelsi Musick will follow with her own team right after, giving fans a look at both rosters before the season even begins.
From there, the entertainment ramps up fast. Organizers promise a dunk contest and a 3-point shooting contest to get the building buzzing early.
The first 5,000 Razorbacks fans through the gates will also walk away with a free event-themed T-shirt, so arriving early has its perks beyond just good seats.
Scrimmage caps off the evening
The men’s team will wrap things up with a Red-White scrimmage, letting fans see real game action for the first time this fall.
It’s a chance to scout new faces and returning players alike before the regular season tips off later in the year.
The full schedule breaks down like this. Parking lots open at 5 p.m., arena doors open at 7 p.m., the event kicks off at 8 p.m. and everything wraps by 9:30 p.m.
With both programs sharing the spotlight, this year’s Primetime at the Palace gives the Hogs faithful an early taste of what’s ahead for two teams looking to build momentum heading into the new season.
