The Arkansas coaching staff gets one more shot at landing pledges before a recruiting dead period shuts things down through the start of football season.
Six prospects are headed to Fayetteville this weekend for official visits per a story by Daniel Fair at HawgBeat:
- Four-star WR Alvin Mosley
- Three-star LB Bryce Breeden
- RB Tylek Lewis
- Iowa Central (JUCO) OL Zavian Chones-Ashmore
- College of San Mateo (JUCO) OL Dorian Williams
- Copiah-Lincoln (JUCO) OL Antrale Newson
The timing couldn’t be better.
Arkansas was sitting dead last in the SEC on Rivals recruiting rankings before official visits began, but three new commitments this week alone pushed the Hogs from 52nd to 40th nationally and up to 13th in the conference.
Three commits in one week
Three-star defensive back John Catlin IV kicked things off Sunday, choosing Arkansas over Purdue, Iowa State, BYU and Boston College right after wrapping up his official visit.
The Denton Ryan product logged 31 total tackles — 26 solo — plus a fumble recovery and two interceptions across 12 games as a junior, per MaxPreps.
Two more pledges landed Thursday within hours of each other.
Three-star safety Kevin Grant announced on social media he’s joining the Razorbacks, picking Arkansas over Tulsa, UNLV, San Diego State and North Texas.

Grant doubles as a track athlete with a 4.3-second 40-yard dash, 40-inch vertical, 24-foot-7 long jump and a 200-meter time of 21.6 seconds.
Rounding out the week was three-star offensive lineman Alijah Shaw out of Blue Valley North near Kansas City.
The 6-foot-9, 296-pound tackle chose the Hogs over Wisconsin, Boston College and Oklahoma State.
Decision Friday, more to come
Three-star safety Jameer Cantrell of Buford, Georgia is expected to make his college choice public Friday after taking his official visit to Fayetteville last weekend.
Vanderbilt, Florida, Georgia and Wake Forest round out his finalist group.
Both Rivals analyst Chad Simmons and Fair at HawgBeat have their recruiting prediction meters pointing toward Arkansas.
On the wide receiver front, four-star Alvin Mosley has drawn plenty of Ole Miss buzz but he’s still making the trip to Fayetteville this weekend before announcing June 27.
Texas, Houston and Ole Miss are also in his final group. Three-star receiver Aden Starling visited Purdue last weekend but Arkansas still feels confident about its standing with him ahead of his July 4 decision date.
