4-star WR Alvin Mosley loved his Razorback visit, but nobody can read where he’s leaning

The fan base is fired up, the facilities impressed him and the coaching staff left a good taste in his mouth.

The thing about 4-star wide receiver Alvin Mosley and his June 27 commitment date is he hasn’t had a bad word to say about anybody.

Mosley wrapped up an official visit to Fayetteville over the weekend and came away with strong feelings about what Ryan Silverfield is putting together with the Razorbacks.

He’s also weighing Ole Miss, Texas and Houston, and made a point to take official visits to all four programs before going public with his pick.

That tells you something. This isn’t a recruitment where one school has clearly separated itself in the prospect’s mind. Mosley is doing his homework, keeping every option open and — at least publicly — finding reasons to like every stop on his tour.

“This weekend was definitely a great official visit at Arkansas,” Mosley told Jacob Davis of Arkansas Razorbacks on SI. “I was able to see a lot of good things from a culture standpoint.”

He went on to credit the Hogs’ coaching staff and said the current receiver room had good things to say about life in the program.

“The coaches [were great] and heard plenty of good things about them from the current group of [Arkansas] receivers that are already here,” Mosley said. “All around, this was definitely a good experience.”

Those are the kinds of comments that make recruiting analysts lean forward. They make it nearly impossible to project where a prospect is truly leaning.

Mosley’s praise for Arkansas is genuine, but it doesn’t come at the expense of anyone else on his list.

A prospect who’s been impressed everywhere

That’s what makes this recruitment worth watching closely.

When a highly-rated prospect takes official visits to four programs and comes out of each one with positive things to say, it means coaches on both sides of the equation are doing their jobs well.

It also means nobody’s made a mistake big enough to fall out of the running.

Arkansas got what it needed from the visit. Mosley noted the facilities stood out, the stadium made an impression and the fan base’s passion registered with him.

“The Arkansas facilities are top tier,” Mosley said. “Razorback Stadium is nice for sure and I felt the woo pig sooie pride. Arkansas fans want to see this program back on top.”

Ole Miss, Texas and Houston are still very much alive, and nothing Mosley has said publicly suggests he’s narrowed this thing down before Friday’s announcement.

What Mosley brings to the table

The production Mosley put up last season makes this recruitment matter.

According to 247Sports, he’s the No. 120 overall prospect in the 2027 class, the No. 16 wideout nationally and the No. 17 recruit in Texas.

Those rankings don’t capture the full picture.

He hauled in 67 receptions for 1,138 yards and 20 receiving touchdowns last season.

He added seven rushing scores and three more on special teams for 30 total touchdowns in a single season from a player who was still two years away from signing a letter of intent.

The Hogs already have two 4-star wideouts locked in for 2027 in Jabari Watkins and Darion Moseley, which gives Silverfield’s staff a credible pitch on receiver development and usage.

Landing a third pass catcher of Mosley’s caliber in the same class would shift the profile of this recruiting haul in a meaningful way.

Arkansas holding at No. 32 nationally

The Razorbacks’ 2027 class currently sits at 20 commitments, ranked No. 11 in the SEC and No. 32 nationally per 247Sports.

That’s a solid foundation for a staff still finding its footing under new leadership, and a pledge from Mosley would give the class a noticeable jump.

Mosley isn’t the only prospect with a decision coming out of last weekend’s visit.

Three-star linebacker Bryce Breeden also took an official to Fayetteville and announces Friday at 6:30 p.m.

He’s choosing from Arkansas, TCU, Michigan, Northwestern, Arizona and Purdue after a standout junior season at Bridge City High School that included 109 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, eight sacks, three forced fumbles, two blocked field goals and two pass breakups.

The Razorbacks could land two official visitors in back-to-back days. Or they could come away empty.

That’s the nature of a recruitment where a 4-star prospect has nothing but kind words for everyone in his final four and has kept his cards as close to the vest as anyone in the 2027 cycle.
