FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas will play one of the three teams it faces twice this season when the LSU Tigers come to Bud Walton Arena on Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN2.

The Razorbacks hit the road this weekend to face No. 8/9 Texas A&M on Saturday then play at No. 1/2 Auburn the following Wednesday.

After those two road games, Arkansas will host Missouri (Feb. 22) and Texas (Feb. 26) – the other two teams on the schedule Arkansas will face twice this year.

Game Notes:

• This will be the 81st meeting between Arkansas and LSU, the 71st since the Razorbacks joined the SEC and the second of the season. Since Arkansas joined the SEC, LSU has been the Razorbacks’ most common opponent with 71 meetings.

• Arkansas has won five of the last eight meetings and leads the all-time series, 43-37. The Hogs lead 24-8 in games played in Baton Rouge. A notable game played in Fayetteville was March 3, 1993, in the final men’s basketball game played in Barnhill Arena. The #13 Razorbacks faced a Shaquille O’Neal-led LSU team and defeated the Tigers, 88-75.

• Since joining the SEC, Arkansas leads the series 39-32 overall.

• Arkansas and LSU met on Jan. 14, 2025, in Baton Rouge and the Tigers held on for a 78-74 victory. Arkansas trimmed a seven-point deficit to two with 28 seconds left but Jordan Sears sealed the win for LSU with two free throws with 21 seconds left for the victory. LSU’s overall success at the free throw line played a key role in the win. The Tigers were 26-of-28 at the line, including Cam Carter making all 10 of his, while Arkansas was just 11-of-13 at the stripe. The game was a series of runs. First, LSU closed the first half and opened the second with a 22-8 run as the Tigers not only took their first lead but went up 40-39. Arkansas answered with an 11-0 run to lead 50-43. However, LSU bounced back with a 20-3 spurt and led 64:55 with 6:07 left. From there, Boogie Fland scored nine straight points for Arkansas and cut the Razorback deficit to three, 68-65. Later, down seven, Trevon Brazile made a 3-pointer and Adou Thiero made two free throws to get the Hogs to within two, 76-74, before Sears sealed the win with his two free throws.

• Despite doing many things that would normally win a basketball, the Razorbacks lost to Alabama.

• First, Zvonimir Ivisic (27 points) and Adou Thiero (22 points) each scored at least 20 points versus Alabama. Arkansas fell to 3-1 this season when two Razorbacks scored at least 20 points.

• Second, Arkansas scored 81 points. Arkansas fell to 3-1 this season when scoring between 80-89 points and 7-1 when scoring at least 80 points.

• Third, Arkansas shot 43.3% from the field. Arkansas fell to 5-4 this year when shooting between 40-49% from the field.

• Fourth, Arkansas grabbed 13 rebounds. Arkansas fell to 3-6 this year when grabbing at least 10 offensive boards.
