Little picks up league’s top special teams’ award after game-winner
Cam Little has another SEC award for the second week in a row.
The freshman kicker was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week after drilling three-of-three field goals, including the walk-off game-winner in overtime, in Arkansas’ 16-13 win at LSU.
The Moore, Oklahoma, native grabbed his second conference award in as many weeks after he was named freshman of the week for hitting three field goals in a win over Mississippi State on Nov. 6.
Little recorded makes of 27, 37 and 48 yards against the Tigers, nailing the game-winner from 37 yards out. It was the first Arkansas game-winner on the game’s final play since Connor Limpert’s 34-yard field goal at Ole Miss.
Little leads all FBS freshmen with 17 made field goals this year, which also ranks second overall in the SEC. He moved into a tie for the eighth-most makes in a single season in program history with Alex Tejada (2007), Todd Latourette (1998) and Todd Wright (1992).
Little picked up his third weekly award from the conference office this year, adding to his two freshmen of the week awards. He is the first Razorback to earn freshman of the week twice in the same season since Dre Greenlaw (2015).
Earlier this season, Little connected on four field goals in Arkansas’ 20-10 victory over No. 7 Texas A&M to earn his first career freshman of the week recognition.
Little is contributing $10 for every made field goal this season to Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas and it up to $170 in donations.
The Razorbacks are ranked No. 21 in this week’s AP Poll and travel to face No. 2 Alabama this weekend in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 2:30 p.m. on CBS.

UConn jumps on Hogs early, rolls to 95-80 win
HARTFORD, Conn. — Arkansas (2-1) suffered its first loss of the season, falling to perennial women’s basketball power No. 2 UConn (1-0), 95-80.
UConn got off to a 14-2 lead early, and though Arkansas would cut the lead back down on several occasions, the Hogs never led in the game.
Sophomore phenom Paige Bueckers paced the Huskies, going for a career-high 34 points in the game. Redshirt senior guard Amber Ramirez led the Hogs in points, going for 20. Sasha Goforth chipped in with 17 points, while Erynn Barnum added 16 of her own.
Turning point
The Huskies stormed out of the gates, scoring 17 of the game’s first 19 points. Connecticut shot 63 percent from the field in the first quarter, while Arkansas only shot 26 percent in the frame.
Despite that, Arkansas only trailed the No. 2 team in the nation after one by eight.
The Hogs showed resilience, chipping the lead in the second quarter all the way down to three, starting the period on a 7-2 run, capped by a Makayla Daniels layup.
Arkansas got the lead back down to four at the 4:37 mark of the second period on a Samara Spencer bucket, but the Razorbacks would get no closer. UConn would finish the first half up 10, and the Hogs would end up falling by 15.
Hogs highlights
• Ramirez tallied her first 20-point game of the young season, and the 16th such game of her career.
• Barnum’s 16 points were the most of her career, while Goforth’s 17 were the most of her Arkansas career.
• Barnum also pulled down eight boards, nearly double-doubling.
• Freshman guard Samara Spencer continued to impress, scoring eight points, dishing two assists and nabbing a steal.
Next game
Arkansas finally gets a break in its schedule, as the Hogs won’t play again until Friday
The Razorbacks will head to Jonesboro on Friday, where they will meet Arkansas State. That game is set to tip off at 7 p.m.
