Memphis Whitehaven highly-rated three-star offensive gaurd Melvin McBride has set an official visit to Arkansas.

“I plan on doing my official visit during the Alabama week,” McBride told me over the weekend.

McBride was offered June 16 by the Razorbacks.

“It meant a lot,” he said. “It showed me how much of a priority I am to them.”

McBride is yet another recruit that is impressed with the new culture around the Hogs and the new coaching staff.

“I like the environment,” McBride said. “I also like the facility and coaches. We have a good relationship. But we haven’t known each other for that long.”

McBride has talked a lot with Arkansas offensive line coach Dustin Fry.

“I like the concern and they care about the player more than football,” McBride said.

What makes Arkansas different from any other program?

“The way it feels and how much they care about their football.” McBride said.

McBride is looking for a college that fits his goals.

“A great place to get my degree and the coaching and developing to be real good.” McBride said. “My strength is my athleticism. I have been working relentlessly on my technique.”

McBride has set a timetable on when he will commit to his school of choice.

“During the season.” McBride said.

What are his top teams at the moment?

“Tennessee, Louisville, Memphis, Arkansas, and Florida.” McBride said.
