Manny Watkins guest on first Mike’d Up with Mike Anderson Show at Sassy’s

FAYETTEVILLE — Senior guard Manuale Watkins and junior college transfer Daryl Macon will join Mike Anderson on the first Mike’d Up of the season, the weekly radio show dedicated to Arkansas basketball at Sassy’s Red House in Fayetteville on Monday at 7 p.m.

 The one-hour program gives fans an opportunity to interact with Razorback coaches and players, while also getting a chance to learn more about the personalities they witness on the court.

Hosted by the voice of the Razorbacks, Chuck Barrett, the program features interviews with Anderson and Arkansas student-athletes, coaches and staff members.

Fans in attendance will also have an opportunity to ask the head Razorback their own questions. Fans can also send in questions to Anderson on the day of each show via Twitter to @RazorbackMBB and by using the hashtag #MikedUp.

 As preseason competition comes to an end, Watkins has shined as he prepares for his final season in Fayetteville. The veteran guard led the way in the Red-White game, recording a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds to go along with four assists. He then averaged 11 points and six rebounds in the two exhibition games and pulled down a team-best four offensive boards.

 Junior guard Daryl Macon led all scorers in the Red-White game, scoring 28 points on 9-of-19 shooting. In exhibition play, he averaged 14 points per game and poured in a game-high 20 points on 7-of-8 shooting in a 50-point victory over Emporia State.

 After claiming victories over Central Missouri and Emporia State in the two exhibition games, Arkansas opens the regular season on Friday, Nov. 11, against Fort Wayne, a team projected to win the Summit League title this year after finishing second a year ago with a record of 24-10.

 Mike’d Up can be heard across the Razorback Sports Network from IMG College across the state. All but two of the 12 shows are held on Mondays with Tuesday, Nov. 15 and Tuesday, Nov. 29 serving as the lone exceptions due to the game schedule. A complete list of show dates is listed below.
