Hogs start weekend series Friday on road at Georgia

Having won three of its last five, Arkansas heads out on a weekend road trip beginning Friday at Georgia. The conference matchup is scheduled for a 6 p.m. first serve and will be streamed live on SEC Network+ through the WatchESPN app.

All-Time Series
Friday’s match represents the 33rd all-time meeting between Arkansas and Georgia—and second of the season—with the Razorbacks owning a 23-9 series advantage. Arkansas has won seven in a row in the series including a come-from-behind, 3-2 victory in Fayetteville earlier this season. The Razorbacks have won 11 of 16 matches played in Athens.

Last Time vs. Georgia
For the 13th time since 2000, the Razorbacks erased an 0-2 match deficit and defeated Georgia in the first meeting between the two teams this season (Oct. 30). Danielle Harbin put down a career-high 27 kills while libero Okiana Valle matched her then-season high with 28 digs. Arkansas saved three match points in the third set before rallying for the victory.

Bring on the Block
The Razorbacks’ 14.0 team blocks against Tennessee (Nov. 13) are their high mark for a three-set match this season and the second-highest total overall. Arkansas has at least 11 blocks in four of the last five matches while averaging 3.05 blocks per set during that same stretch. The Razorbacks are sixth in the SEC at 2.27 blocks per set this season. The team’s season high of 15.5 blocks is from a five-set match at No. 4 Kansas (Sept. 3).

Entering Friday’s match at Georgia, a trio of Razorbacks are within striking distance of career milestones. Breana Jones is four blocks shy of cracking the program’s career top 20, Okiana Valle is nine digs away from the program’s career top 15 and Danielle Harbin needs 18 kills to reach 700 for her career. Meanwhile with four matches remaining, Ana Sofia Jusino is 24 blocks shy of Arkansas’ all-time top 10.

Championship Feeling
With its trip to the Ramsey Center in Athens, the Razorbacks return to the site of their championship run at the 1997 SEC Tournament. Arkansas swept through the tournament without dropping a set including a 15-7, 15-7, 17-15 win over fourth-ranked Florida in the finals. Krystal Osborne earned MVP honors and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by teammates Tina Rico, Yarleen Santiago and Kim Storey.
